Description
This graphic and sophisticated Mid Century Modern mirror was realized in the United States circa 1950. It features a rectangular geometric silhouette consisting of four sides with a cut-out rectangular form excised from the center of each outer panel in beautiful antiqued mirror. A mosaic of antiqued mirrored pieces (bias cut rhombuses and trapezoids) seamlessly fit together, secured by bronze concave rivets) to create the sculptural frame that resembles a highly stylized and abstracted greek key motif. There are also cut outs that create three sided rectangles in each corner of the plain mirror that occupies the center. With its idiosyncratic form- full of verve and dynamism- and beautiful attention to detail, this mirror is as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling. It would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition.
