Art Deco Sculptural Skyscraper Style Nickeled Table Lamps w/ Black Enamel Base

This unusual and stunning Art Deco table lamp was realized in the United States circa 1930. It offers an amorphic streamlined for (personifying the era's fascination with transportation and speed) ascending, like a phoenix, from a volumetric rectilinear black enamel base. This abstract bullet like form with a crested lip at its top- full of verve and dynamism- features a skyscraper style body with a sheaf like detail offering vertical channeled detailing (with scalloping at its apex) and a zeppelin like form apparently grafted onto another side. The result is a beautiful, Brancusi like sculptural form that appears as modern today as when it was created nearly one hundred years ago. With its monochromatic palate, strikingly contemporary sensibility, and clean modernist lines, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. The table lamp comes fitted with a custom shade.
