Reclining Lounge Chair, Model 620, by Vittorio Dassi, Italy 1960s

This rare model 620 lounge chair was designed in the 1960s by Italian designer Vittorio Dassi. The frame consists entirely of teak and is made in a style typical for Dassi. It is an amalgam of sharp and refined lines that are brought together by beautiful wood joints. This chair, as it were, reaches forward through the relatively long and pointed arms. The armrests are milled and inlaid with high-quality leather that feels pleasant to the touch. It's hardly noticeable, but this chair has another feature that makes relaxing much easier. A square brass button has been subtly incorporated on the side of the seat. This can be pulled out, after which the seat can be adjusted to a reclining position. In the usual position, this chair is already very comfortable, but the comfort extends further due to the possibility to adjust it. The cushions have been reupholstered in an off-white teddy fabric and fit precisely into the refined, receding edges of the frame. A luxurious chair is a very suitable representative of the refined sense of class and taste in Italy in the sixties. Its condition is entirely in accordance with age and use. The frame shows some scratches and stains but does not affect the overall appearance.
