Swiss Draw Leaf Table with Inset Slate Top

Sold Sold
  • Description
    Dimensions: 29-⅜”H x 58-¾”W x 39-⅛”D

A wonderful Swiss draw leaf table crafted during the 1830s from solid oak with an inset slate top. The stone top is perfect for a hot tea kettle or pot as it will not be damaged, making this a great serving or dining table. Inset slate tops were a common feature of Swiss tables as a lighter alternative to marble. The apron has a beautiful scalloped edge. Thick, splayed legs display great turned details and collect to a curvy X shaped stretcher. Raised on bun feet. The leaves easily pull out and bring the measurements to 28-¼”H x 106-¾”W. The leaves are hardwood and display a nice patina. Make sure to view all of the photographs to get a closer look at the rustic character and fantastic craftsmanship.
