Description
Repousse Peruvian silver bouquet vase
Peruvian, 20th Century
Height 35cm, diameter 19cm
Masterfully crafted from Peruvian silver, this grandiose vase showcases intricate repousse work, demonstrating exceptional artistry.
The vase adopts a classic bouquet-like silhouette, with a broad lower body that tapers into a slender neck, flaring subtly towards the rim. The body of the vase is characterized by a captivating wave-like diagonal pattern that extends to an exaggeratedly waved rim, resulting in a dynamic and visually striking form. This captivating design is further accentuated by the rhythmic interplay of convex and concave stripes encircling the vase's entire body. The convex stripes serve as a canvas for the elaborate repousse work. These detailed carvings present an arrangement of flowers and foliage, vertically oriented, reminiscent of Latin American floral arrangements.
The extraordinary craftsmanship of the vase is evident in the meticulous detailing of these motifs and the three-dimensional allure of the repousse work. Underneath, the vase exhibits its distinct hallmarks, inclusive of the maker's insignia and '925', indicating the purity of the silver.
With its distinctive shape and lavish embellishments, this vase provides an ideal centrepiece for a flower arrangement. Its presence is sure to infuse an aura of opulence and elegance into any interior setting. -
