Pair of Art Deco Skyscraper Style Silvered Bronze and Alabaster Sconces

This elegant and balanced Pair of Art Deco Skyscraper Style Silvered Bronze and Alabaster Sconces originate from France, Circa 1935. They feature silvered bronze frames in a classic composition adorned with stylized geometric skyscraper detailing. The rectangular back plate of the sconce has lovely scalloped detailing with a bare front surface from which the arms of the sconces attach, curving down and then upwards supporting the alabaster shades. The silvered surface of the frames balances beautifully with the veining of the alabaster, providing sophisticated detail by both machined and natural variation across the sconces. An elegant and precise example of the design motifs and sensibilities of the Art Deco movement, these sconces will style beautifully in a wide array of interiors and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century and Contemporary Interiors. Newly rewired to American Standards, these Sconces are in Excellent Vintage Condition. Accommodates two candelabra base bulbs.
