Description
A French Louis XVI style sofa from circa 1900 with soft light blue painted finish, carved floral motif on the crest, scrolling arms and fluted legs. This French Louis XVI style sofa, known as a Canapé corbeille, hails from circa 1900 and boasts a soft light blue painted finish that evokes a sense of calm and elegance. The sofa is adorned with a carved floral motif on its crest, lending a touch of romantic flair to its classical design. Scrolling arms and fluted legs further enhance its aesthetic appeal, with additional carved acanthus leaves on the arm supports, rosettes on the knees, and twisted ribbon details along the rails.
Currently in need of new upholstery, this sofa is offered at a fair price, allowing the new owner to customize the fabric to suit their decor preferences. The process of reupholstering presents an excellent opportunity to personalize this piece, making it a truly unique addition to any living room, sitting area, or grand entryway.
With its generous dimensions (50"W x 24.5"D x 15.25"H for the seat), this sofa can serve as a central piece in a refined interior design scheme, offering both comfort and a touch of historical elegance. Once reupholstered, it will seamlessly blend with both contemporary and traditional decors, inviting relaxation and conversation in a stylish setting. -
