Description
The Tower of Achievement Trophy awarded to Nat King Cole by Capitol Records during the 1950's. Nat King Cole was prolific during the 1950's selling an enormous amount of records for The Capitol Records Corporation. In gratitude the company presented this trophy to Nat King Cole. A very modernist designed trophy, it is cast in bronze & silver plated. It measures over 26" tall & it is heavy, weighing 15 lbs. The trophy consists of a constructivist style figure standing on a circular base, the figure holds over head a very stylized model of the Capitol Records Building, nicknamed 'The House That Nat Built' situated in Los Angeles, CA. This trophy is in excellent perfect condition, the only flaw is the finial at the top of the building, is slightly bent.
