Description
An early 19th Century Italian mirror of elegant proportions, carved with the refined symmetry and classical motifs that defined the Neoclassical movement. The frame features a rhythmic display of beading and foliate detail, demonstrating the sophisticated craftsmanship of a period deeply influenced by the discovery of the ancient world.
Circa 1820, this original period piece was created during a time when Italian designers sought to capture the grace and intellectual clarity of antiquity.
Finished in gilt with a warm, hand-applied surface that has developed a soft patina through decades of gentle use. Rooted in the Neoclassical tradition, this mirror embodies the early 19th century's love for balanced forms and understated luxury, serving as a luminous connection to Italy’s rich artistic heritage. -
