Description
This elegant pair of antique table lamps features richly colored blue glass bodies, complemented by finely cast gilt bronze mounts and ornamental bronze bases. Each lamp displays a graceful baluster-shaped silhouette, with a rounded, bulbous body tapering toward the lower section and rising into a slender neck. The luminous blue glass is embellished with delicate gilt decoration near the base, adding contrast and refinement to its vivid, glossy surface.
The glass bodies are supported by elaborate gilt bronze feet featuring scrolling Rococo-inspired ornament, acanthus foliage, and pierced decorative flourishes. Sculptural arrangements of bronze foliage and floral wreath detailing frame the upper portions of the glass, creating an elegant transition between the vase-shaped bodies and the lamp fittings. The combination of richly colored glass and ornate gilt bronze reflects the decorative taste of the mid to late 19th century, when luxurious materials and historical revival motifs were popular in European interiors.
The lamps are presented with matching cream-colored tapered fabric shades that complement the saturated blue glass and warm gilt finish. Each lamp measures approximately 31 inches high from the base to the top of the harp, with an 8-inch diameter at the widest part of the body. Each shade measures approximately 12 inches in height, 16 inches across the bottom, and 14 inches across the top.
This distinguished pair makes a striking decorative statement when placed on matching console tables, flanking a fireplace, or adorning a bedroom or living room. Their harmonious proportions, vibrant blue glass, and elaborate gilt bronze ornament bring a refined European elegance to both traditional and eclectic interiors. Both lamps are in great working condition, and no special light bulb is required. -
